What is the best way to study for the PSAT? When is the PSAT usually taken? Is it required? Can you retake it?

I am just wondering about the PSAT, is it hard? How can you study for it? Is it mandatory? If you do bad, can you retake it? Also, what is considered a really good score on it? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
