I bought some firewood that burns easily in a fire pit but won't burn in my fireplace?

I bought some wood from Albertsons that burned in a fire pit, but when I got the remainder home, it wouldn't burn in my fireplace. All it did was char. I even put it on a duraflame and it wouldn't light The chimney is clean, was just inspected. I even took that remainder of wood and went to the beach and had no problems lighting it.It lit in under 5 minutes. Tried different wood and the same thing happened. Just charred. So the only thing it seems i can burn is duraflame logs.. Any reasons as to why?
