How can I detect voltage across two speaker wires?

Cheap and easy continuity tester for low voltage wiring: Get a 9-volt battery and a flashlight bulb. Tape the wires to the battery leads on one end of the wire, then touch one of the wires on the other end to the bottom of the bulb and the other to the side of the metal part of the bulb. Light = continuity.
