International student wants to study in Chicago?

I think Chicago is a very beautiful city and I would like to attend truman or harold washington community college there. I am from the Caribbean and I only have family in New York n Florida but no one is Chicago. Where can I possibly stay (preferably want a roommate who can show me around or with another international student) within the price range $250 to $400.
