Is a person's skin tone more important than their race?

yeah some reason it seems the lighter the better, but what you missed is that even light skin gets hell from people , im light skin(obvious) and went to a majority black school and they used to tease me and call me white girl or oh look she has white hair or something to make it known i wasnt like them which i know im not like everyone else because of my ethnic background but damn no need to make a mockery of me. and add also every group of people come in different colors like im light my mothers light but my dads darker and so is my brother. i really dont have a problem with being judged as my color because i feel everyone should but i DONT like when people judge color and say oh shes black shes asian or Label me a race based off skin color. because in reality if your born in america your american maybe a light skin american, fair skin, tan or dark skin but still american
